In Newcastle, Doughheads have unveiled a limited edition doughnut in celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the Sydney Mardi Gras which will take place this Saturday 3rd March.
“To celebrate such a momentous anniversary and our LGBTIQ community, we wanted to create something very special. Glamazon. A mouthful fit for a queen. It pays homage to RuPaul, undoubtedly the world’s most famous drag queen. She is creative, fun, a breath of fresh air and unafraid to be herself; all things that we stand for at Doughheads,” says Ms Farthing, Doughheads’ Creative Director.
Continuing their Dough for Charity campaign, Doughheads will be donating $1 from every Glamazon doughnut sold to the Twenty10 organisation. This organisation offers personalised support, information and referrals to LGBTIQ+ people of all ages, their families, professionals and communities across NSW.
Inspired by RuPaul, the doughnut tells a story of the joy that can be achieved in standing out in the crowd and being confident in who we are. The Glamazon doughnut starts with our signature chocolate dough which is filled with honeycomb custard, dipped into white chocolate ganache and adorned with bright coloured chocolate ribbons, shards of fresh honeycomb and a splash of edible glitter. It’s glamorous, delicious and a mouthful fit for a queen.
Novocastrians can purchase the Glamazon doughnut in-store from Friday 2nd March through to Sunday 4th March, but we advise that you get in quick as Doughheads will only be creating limited numbers each day.
